Santander 2050

It is the largest project I have built almost entirely on my own. The hard part was not the size but that it kept changing shape while it was being built: what counted as a mission, what counted as an indicator and how they related to each other were redefined several times. The data model had to absorb that without forcing me to rewrite the application each time. Having built Biodiversity in Figures first taught me where a screen that tries to show everything breaks.

Visión Santander 2050 turns the department's biggest challenges into missions with targets you can actually follow over time. The public site tells that story and shows how it is progressing; behind it there is an admin platform the team uses to keep everything the site shows up to date, without needing a developer for every change. It is built with Next.js and a Drizzle data layer, and the real weight of the work was in the model holding all of that together.
